The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Dept. just issued a list of cliff trail closings put in effect to protect Peregrine Falcon nests. Peregrine falcons disappeared from Vermont in the mid-1900s when widespread use of pesticides caused reproductive failure. Vermont Fish & Wildlife and others have monitored and protected peregrine nesting sites over the past two decades, and have successfully restored Vermont’s peregrine falcon population. ------------------- mike
